A fine sewing basket by Passamaquoddy weaver Debbie Nicholas. The basket includes a pin cushion very conveniently attached to the cover as well as a tray inside. It's not only practical, but it's beautiful, with its touches of red and blue, braided sweetgrass strands running diagonally across the side, a heavy bunch of sweetgrass on the cover, and a bright design as part of the pin cushion.
Ms. Nicholas is a member of the extended Neptune family; she is a niece of Clara Keezer, Angela Barnes, Theresa Neptune Gardner, and Peter Neptune, and cousin to Rocky and Kenny Keezer. This is the first sewing basket she has made.
