Three bronze faces by David Ruben Piktouqun Inuit sculpture

Three cast bronze faces in black wooden shadow boxes.

• The reddish brown face is the father  (7 inches high x 4 inches wide), a dark figure; the mouth is closed and the eyes are sealed.
• The golden face with tattoos is the mother, a vibrant figure (7 1/4 inches high x 3 5/8 inches wide).
• The blue face is the child, bright and cheery (6 inches high x 4 1/4 inches wide).

All three are cast from original stone sculptures (elsewhere on our website) and are about 1 inch thick. They are all editions of 1; no others will be made.

David Ruben Piqtoukun makes faces that are reminiscent of those made by people in ancient cultures and are other-worldly. 

Born in the Northwest Territories of Canada, David Ruben Piqtoukun was sent away to a residential school at a young age. As such, he is comfortable in the Indigenous world as well as mainstream Canadian society..
