Passamaquoddy Trinket Box Basket Clare Gabriel Wabanaki
A lovely trinket box by Clare Gabriel, one of Mary Mitchell Gabriel's daughters. Mary Gabriel was one of the long-time Wabanaki weavers who kept the art of basket making alive, making it possible for the Maine Indian Basketmakers Alliance to create an apprenticeship program for younger weavers in the 1990s.
This basket was woven in 2006 and is in pristine condition. It has an abundance of braided sweetgrass.
