Pam Cunningham, Penobscot artist, has made a series of baskets, or vessels, from hand dyed felted wool. This vessel is primarily oatmeal colored, with raspberry appliqué, including a prominent traditional Wabanaki double curve design. Among other meanings, the double curve represents balance in life.
One of the beauties of hand dyed wool is the color variations. In this case, if you magnify a view of the light color, you will see specks of other, brighter colors.
