Sarah Sockbeson is one of the top Wabanki weavers today. Her tight weaves are impeccable, and her sense of color is outstanding. Sockbeson often uses finials made from deer antler.
This basket demonstrates Sockbeson's mastery of weaving miniature form. In spite of its small size, this basket has wonderful presence. The curls on the basket are a traditional weave among what are known as fancy baskets.
