Three Dimensional Quill Work Basket Ojibwe Marjorie Spanish
A birch bark basket with exceptional quill work by Marjorie Spanish, artist of the Ojibwe Nation on Manitoulin Island, Ontario (Canada). The cover design includes two hummingbirds and several flowered stems. The quills of the birds and one of the flower heads are perpendicular to the surface and cut, giving them a three dimensional tufted look.
Criss-cross and other quill patterns adorn the side. Three sweetgrass belts surround the basket as well.
This is a master work that will dress up any home or collection.
