Eric Otter Bacon Passamaquoddy Ash Sweetgrass and Birch Bark Acorn Basket
A beautifully woven black ash acorn basket with sweetgras.
Although this is an early basket of the artist, it illustrates his high level of weaving skill. The contrast of standards (vertical) woven from heartwood and weavers (horizontal) woven from sapwood give this basket great interest. A finial carved from deer antler completes the design.
