Lydia Soctomah's grandmother was renowned basket maker Molly Neptune Parker. She is the third grandchild of Molly's that is actively weaving; the other two are Geo Neptune and Frances Soctomah. It is wonderful to see a family tradition carried on and extended through the generations.
This basket has rich green color, which is striking in combination with a dark bronze, natural colored splints, and sweetgrass. The finial comes to a point at its peak, a nice touch.
